As a baby grows the motor functions develop and a baby starts reaching out for things, crawling, toddling etc. These simple activities help the child to strengthen its muscular system. During the first few years it is important for a baby to indulge in all sorts of playful activities that help it co-ordinate its movements. Each child is unique and will do things in its own time. Not all children learn to do things quickly, there are some who develop at a slower pace, and it is up to us to encourage them.
